Description

A successful Member Service Representative, will build and maintain strong relationships with members and teammates, while completing routine teller transactions as well as receiving and processing memberships, checking/loan applications, and opening new services for members. They will also listen for the opportunity to suggest/sell new credit union services which will assist members in meeting their financial goals.

  • Maintain member and credit union confidentiality at all times
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, work and interact with others
  • Development and maintenance of various reports used throughout the organization
  • Working knowledge of all credit union products and services, including, but not limited to credit granting criteria, documentation required for each type of loan and the computation of interest rates
  • Operate ITMs and cash recyclers
  • Ability to ask for, begin, and see a loan through to its closing
  • Opening, updating, and closing of all types of accounts
  • Assist peers when needed
  • The ability to evaluate problems and make independent decisions following established credit union policies and procedures
  • Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and member service oriented
  • Understand and maintain vault policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Ability to operate computer applications
  • Answering phone calls and providing expertise when customers call in through our automated system
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly branch
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (i.e. calculations, use of decimals to compute ratios and percentages, fractions, etc.)
Candidate Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a customer service position, preferably in a financial institution, which included duties such as operating and balancing a cash drawer and/or providing face-to-face customer assistance preferred, but not required
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop/crouch/squat, use hands or fingers repetitively, reach at or below shoulder level and twist at waist
  • Must be able to exert up to 10lbs of force, occasionally, to lift, carry, push, move and pull objects
  • Light work usually requires walking or standing frequently
