JOB SUMMARY The Member Services representative facilitates member satisfaction by proactively visiting with guests at the Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center to ensure their needs are being met.
Candidates will provide a high level of personalized attention to members through personal service, conversation and consistent level of professionalism. Member Services Representatives will use effective conversation to help the member achieve their personal goals and feel safe/comfortable using the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE - Position requires problem solving and conflict resolution techniques, following established policies and procedures, in order to resolve member complaints and address concerns. The work schedule for this position varies and includes evening and weekend shifts.
- Attend scheduled meetings and training workshops.
- Promote internal and external Fitness Center programs.
- Maintain a professional appearance through good personal hygiene, grooming and established dress code.
- Anticipate and fulfill member's needs related to the fitness floor.
- Distribute and organize water, towels, magazines/newspapers.
- Monitor and instruct members on the safe and effective usage of cardiovascular and durability training equipment and other fitness areas.
- Assist with equipment cleanliness and maintenance.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS - High school diploma required; at least one year of college or trade school preferred.
- 0-3 months of customer service experience is required.
- Must possess a working knowledge of free weight, weight machines and cardio equipment.
- Must be fluent in English, bilingual a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills, including tact and diplomacy are required.
- Proven ability to mediate in difficult and conflicting situations.
- Must be able to perform basic functions on a computer.
- Current CPR/AED certifications (may be provided through Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center).
- Work requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - NON RQI AHA BLS (BLSNRQI), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitate (CPR), CPR/AED American Red Cross (CPREAD), Heartsaver CPR AED (HSAED): Must have one of the following:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Heartsaver AED (HSAED)
- CPR/AED through American Red Cross.
