Job Title: Blood Bank Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Blood Bank Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to join our team in Medford, OR. This position is responsible for performing a variety of blood bank testing procedures, ensuring the highest level of accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient in immunohematology, and dedicated to providing quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and complex blood bank testing, including blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility testing.

  • Prepare and issue blood products for transfusion.

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

  • Accurately document test results and adhere to regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, AABB, FDA).

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate results.

  • Participate in quality control and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control, laboratory safety, and patient confidentiality protocols.

  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff or students when needed.

Qualifications: Education & Certification:
  • Medical Technologist (MT): Bachelor s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.

  • Medical Lab Technician (MLT): Associate s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.

  • ASCP or AMT certification required (or eligibility to obtain within one year).

  • Oregon state licensure (if applicable).

  • BLS certification preferred.

Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience in blood banking/transfusion services preferred.

  • Strong understanding of immunohematology principles and laboratory best practices.

  • Ability to analyze complex test results, troubleshoot discrepancies, and work independently.

Shifts & Work Schedule:
  • Day and Night Shift positions available

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

  • May include weekends and holidays as needed
