Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our full-time team in Ozark, AL. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to perform a wide range of laboratory procedures across all areas. As a generalist, you will play a critical role in supporting diagnostic and patient care teams by providing accurate and timely laboratory results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests across various departments, including hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and blood banking.
- Accurately analyze samples and interpret results in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, and preparation.
- Follow laboratory protocols to maintain safety and quality control standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, performing regular checks and calibration as needed.
- Document and report results accurately using laboratory information systems.
- Participate in proficiency testing, quality assurance, and laboratory audits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Education/Certifications:
- ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
- Associate s Degree (AS) or higher in a relevant laboratory science field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
- Skills/Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multiple laboratory disciplines (generalist)
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
