Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician - Generalist:
- Essential duties of the position include being able to work in all areas of the lab in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Microbiology in addition to phlebotomy run samples and doing the general maintenance on the instrumentation in the lab and do microscopic exams on body fluids
- Will be required to process blood bank specimens and microbiology specimens
- Must be comfortable with the workload that comes with larger facilities
- Provides information for patient diagnosis and treatment by performing laboratory tests in all general lab areas.
- Able to use various types of machinery, lab equipment, and complex computer programs to perform the test.
Requirements of the Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician - Generalist:
- Trained in an accredited MT or MLT program
- Must have (or be eligible for) the ASCP or AMT certification
- Comfortable working in all areas of the lab
- Licensed in the state of Montana as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Technician
