We are growing our TEAM.

We are looking for a Medical Records/Central Supply Clerk for their long term care community. We are a skilled nursing and assisted living facility in Green Bay.

Central Supply:

A central supply clerk issues supplies to specific staff or departments and ensure that vendors provide appropriate materials. They maintain a reference of purchasing procedures, current standards and regulations
Processes departmental requisitions for all supplies and equipment used in the nursing department.
Stocks incoming supplies in all medical supply rooms and closets and checks all supplies for expiration dates.
Inventories and stocks the supply rooms on a daily basis.
Stocking nursing stations with the appropriate nursing supplies
Taking inventory inside the stock room, both nurses stations, and office
Placing nursing supplies orders for the whole facility
Unpacking all nursing orders that are placed
Stocking Central Supply office with proper supplies to fulfill the facility's needs
Keeping the Central Supply office as organized and neat as possible

Medical Records:
Assure that all medical record information is protected and kept confidential.
Protect all medical record information from loss, defacing or destruction before retention period ends.
File medical records accurately.
Retrieve medical records promptly upon request by authorized individuals and agencies.
Identify late and incomplete documentation and report to individuals responsible for completion.
Implement the system for advising all disciplines of documentation to be completed or corrected.
Maintain a discharge analysis and disease index as required.
Complete all information in master resident index file.
Answer correspondence regarding release of information from medical records.
Ensure Medicare residents have timely certification/re-certification forms signed by the attending physician.
Implement policies and procedures to maintain the medical record system in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Computerize medical record data as required.
Organizes, files and maintains medical records daily and upon discharge
Cleans and maintains chart binders and dividers
Rotates medical records annually and tags for shredding according to facilities destruction policy
Audits physician visits and works with HUC to notify physician of required visits
Maintains file cabinets, copies, orders, and stocks all forms as needed
Tracks return of telephone orders, reviews for signature and date and files in medical record
Faxes and retrieves faxes for the nursing department and distributes to the appropriate individuals
Prepares admission/re-admission chart packets
Background in coding preferred
Audits charts to ensure proper order and complete information as necessary
Audits discharge records to ensure all records are complete before filing
Photocopies under the direction of HIPAA privacy office, any records required to be sent for insurance, legal or other purposes
Any other duties assigned by Administrative staff
