Medical Receptionist - BFF Medical Wellness Clinic (San Marcos Location; 4-8-Week Training in Temecula)

Position Overview

We're seeking a friendly, organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. You'll complete a 4-8-week training program at our Temecula clinic-immersing yourself in our culture, systems, and patient experience-then smoothly transition to support our grand opening in San Marcos.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly, check them in/out, and confirm appointments

Answer multi-line phone system: schedule/reschedule visits, field general inquiries, and route calls

Verify insurance eligibility, co-pays, and collect payments at check-in

Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic or insurance changes in the EMR

Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and lab/imaging orders

Stock and organize front-desk supplies; ensure reading materials and patient forms are up to date

Communicate effectively with clinical staff to streamline patient flow and minimize wait times

Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Training & Transition Plan

1. Orientation & Front-Desk Training (4-8 weeks, Temecula):

Hands-on mentoring with our Front-Desk Lead

EMR workflow, billing/coding basics, and patient-service standards

Shadowing patient check-in, phone triage, and financial processes

2. Transition to San Marcos Launch:

Set up front-desk workspace, phone lines, and EMR access

Lead patient-welcome initiatives and community outreach events

Serve as the first point of contact for our new San Marcos patient community

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or medical-office certification preferred

2+ years of experience in a medical office, dental practice, or similar customer-service role

Familiarity with EMR systems and medical billing/insurance verification

Exceptional communication, organization, and multitasking skills

Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for patient care

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
