The role you'll contribute: The Medical Receptionist is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, reviewing new patient registration, entering patient information into the practice's designated system, requesting and collecting co-pays/outstanding balances at the time of check-in/check-out. This individual is responsible for taking accurate messages and routing correspondence efficiently. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff.

Welcomes patients appropriately, accurately updates, verifies and enters patient demographics (including insurance and billing) and processes/scans all forms into appropriate systems

Maintains an effective operational flow by communicating patients' status to appropriate team members and keeping patient apprised

Provides education as necessary to patient regarding test locations, patient portal use, and follow-up (non-clinical) actions

Respectfully but firmly requests co-pays and/or outstanding balance at time of check-in

Ensures cash control by collecting, processing and balancing funds in the practice's designated system and documents properly per FHMG guidelines

Documents appropriately within the office's designated system to ensure regulatory requirements are met including, but not limited to, Meaningful Use and PCMH.
