A regional law firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join their office in either Columbia or Charleston. This role will provide crucial support to a team of two attorneys and one administrative assistant, specializing in medical malpractice litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience as a paralegal, a strong understanding of medical malpractice law, and a dedication to delivering exceptional legal support.
Direct hire position with full-time, onsite schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys throughout all phases of medical malpractice litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial prep
- Draft, proofread, and revise various legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accurate documentation and proper filing
- Communicate with clients, medical professionals, and experts as necessary
- Conduct legal research and summarize medical records, depositions, and other pertinent materials
- Provide support in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and trial notebooks
- Manage deadlines and support case management to ensure timely progress
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in medical malpractice litigation required
- Paralegal certification preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
Compensation & Benefits:
- $55,000 - $65,000
