Overview
Under general supervision, performs complex analyses on a variety of sample types, utilizing independent judgment to generate acceptable test results. Acts as a lead by managing workflow, mentoring others, and serving as a clinical and technical resource.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently performs responsibilities of MLS I, MLS II, and MLS III.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department.
- Assists leadership with interviewing, orienting, training, and supervising staff. Provides input for performance evaluations and corrective actions.
- Collaborates with leadership to identify gaps and opportunities for professional development and strategic initiatives. Facilitates a positive departmental culture.
- Assists leadership in identifying and resolving complex clinical and operational issues.
- Prepares for and participates in regulatory and accreditation agency activities.
- Performs additional duties as assigned related to the job description.
