Medical Laboratory Scientist II Job Summary: Is responsible for providing the technical ability necessary to perform laboratory procedures for all age groups from neonate through geriatric according to established hospital and department policies and procedures with little or no immediate supervision. Qualifications: Education: One of the following must be met: 1. Fulfill the education requirements to perform high complexity testing as outlined by CLIA (42 CFR 493.1491), complete an accredited Medical Technology program and be certified or certification eligible by ASCP or equivalent agency or 2. Fulfill the education requirements to perform high complexity testing as outlined by CLIA (42 CFR 493.1491),complete a training regimen administered by Flowers Hospital Laboratory, and obtain ASCP or equivalent certification. Experience: One or more years experience is preferred. Licenses / Certifications: Must be certified or certification eligible as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or specialist in a specialty field with ASCP if completed an accredited Medical Technology program. Must be ASCP or equivalent certified if completed traing through a Flowers Hospital training regimen.
