Job Summary

Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. Will perform a variety of routine and complex testing ranging from waived to high complexity testing in all sections of the laboratory including Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. Participates in patient testing, quality control, CAP surveys, policy and procedure development and equipment maintenance.

Essential Functions
  • Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.
  • Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Performs quality control testing.
  • Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.

Licenses/Certifications
  • ASCP preferred
Minimum Education
  • Associate's degree required
  • Certification (or registry eligible) as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists registered or equivalent agency - preferred
