Job Specifics: Benefits Eligible: Yes Shift Details: Day shift, 8 or 10 hour shifts Additional Details: Will consider Medical Lab Scientist candidates, $28.15-$43.42 based on experience Job Details: As a Medical Lab Technician you need to know how to: Perform serologic, chemical, bacteriologic, immunohematologic (blood bank), and microscopic procedures and related duties, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Perform accurate and appropriate testing on laboratory specimens/collections according to established laboratory protocol and procedures. Report results in a timely manner. Troubleshoot instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimen/product problems using standard laboratory technique as required. Perform laboratory quality control, including reporting discrepancies, troubleshooting according to established procedures and protocols. Take appropriate action to assure quality results/products are provided for use by physicians, nurses, patients. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, as needed maintenance and calibrations on instruments and equipment to meet all quality requirements. Conduct verification tests on new products, instruments, procedures which includes comparisons, statistical analysis as requested. Perform quality audit data collection, technical policy/procedure development, inspection assistance, donor files under the direction of laboratory management. Maintain workflow in clinical laboratory through proficiency in testing and maintaining work areas, supply stock, monitoring and assistance in management of inventory. Assist in training and orientation of new associates. Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree Current ASCP or ASCP-I certification and applicable licensure Preferred Qualifications: At least one (1) year of experience in a similar role/setting Physical Requirements: Interact with others requiring the employee to verbally communicate information. Operate computers and complex and delicate lab equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. See and read lab equipment, monitors, and documents. Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer or other equipment.
