The Medical Dosimetrist is a member of the Radiation Oncology team who has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment, and has the education and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist.

As a Medical Dosimetrist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
- Prepares radiation therapy treatment plans according to physician's dose prescription using computerized methods for review and approval by the physician and medical physicist. Calculates patient radiation therapy dose prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist using computer and hand-calculation techniques.
- Prepare contours of areas to be planned and treated. Design and fabricate compensating filters, shielding blocks, bolus and molds as required.
- Enters information into record and verifies system detailing information relating to target dose, skin dose, off-axis dose, field weighting and placement of wedges, shields, and compensating devices.
- Assists radiation therapists in the implementation of patient treatment plans. Performs/assists in patient simulation process. Positions patient in Computed Tomography for simulation if appropriate.
- Communicates to physician and physicist any unusual patient treatment and/or setups.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent degree in Medical Dosimetry is required
- Registration as a CMD (Certified Medical Dosimetrist) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board is required within 2 years of hire
- BCLS certification is required (does not apply if assignment is remote)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent degree in Medical Dosimetry preferred
Physical Requirements:
Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$49.86 - $76.93
