Position Overview As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will develop and implement strategic goals to enhance quality, safety, and patient care across the hospital, employed medical group, and medical staff. The CMO serves as the primary liaison between the governing board, administration, medical staff, and regulatory agencies and plays a pivotal role in medical staff leadership and physician engagement. Key Responsibilities Oversee clinical quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives Lead physician engagement, recruitment, and retention efforts Serve as the primary liaison between the hospital, employed medical group, and independent medical staff Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement Partner with the executive team to drive strategic planning and organizational growth Requirements Active medical license in Maine (or ability to obtain) in good standing 8+ years of progressive hospital leadership experience Strong knowledge of government healthcare regulations and physician practice management Proven track record of leading quality improvement and operational efficiency Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills Why Join Us?
