The PA is responsiblefor obtaining patient medical histories, conducting initial and periodicphysical examinations, and ordering necessary lab tests and diagnosticprocedures for comprehensive patient evaluation. They assess patientconditions, suggest differential diagnoses, and assist in formulating andimplementing treatment plans.
The PA prescribes medications, ordersfluids and diets (with physician countersignature), and ensures accuratedocumentation in patient medical records. Responsibilities also includeperforming laboratory and minor surgical procedures, such as drawing blood,urinalysis, starting IV solutions, suturing lacerations, performing skinbiopsies, and managing superficial abscesses. The PA assists in surgicalemergencies, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and trauma care, and mayinitiate emergency management in the physician's absence.
Additionally, the PA coordinatesconsultations, monitors patient scheduling for specialized tests, and providespatient education and counseling regarding preventive care and treatmentoptions. They conduct daily rounds to track patient progress, update charts,and notify physicians of any condition changes.
Compensation: $ 58.88 - $86.92 Per Hour
Qualifications: - BS Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience required for Senior Physician Assistant status.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be licensed and currently registered as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
