Description
Responsibilities:
- Hands-on Manufacturing Support: Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and production teams in a small company environment to design, prototype, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Machine Operation: Operate and maintain small shop machines, such as bench tools, small mills, drill presses, and jewelers' lathes.
- 3D Modeling & Drawing: Use SolidWorks to model new and existing parts, creating detailed assembly drawings and visual instructions that align with clients methodologies.
- Fixturing and Prototyping: Design and create fixturing solutions, as well as prototype parts and assemblies to support production.
- Test Protocols: Write and execute test protocols, analyze results, and generate comprehensive test reports.
- Process Creation and Product Integration: Develop and implement processes to introduce new products into production, collaborating with production personnel to improve and streamline operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Write and process change orders in compliance with MDSAP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
- Team Collaboration: Support production personnel in implementing engineering solutions and training as needed. Communicate engineering concepts effectively to all levels of the organization, from floor staff to VP-level management.
- Multi-tasking: Adapt to changing priorities and be prepared to manage tasks across various projects in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong preference for experience in a small company or hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Education: A BS in Engineering or a related field, or a comparable level of practical work experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and part design. Hands-on experience with small shop machines, including mills, lathes, and drill presses. Familiarity with creating visual assembly drawings and understanding mechanical drawings.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Strong hands-on skills for troubleshooting, prototyping, and designing solutions to manufacturing challenges.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with change orders, MDSAP, FDA, and other regulatory standards in the manufacturing industry.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and understandable way.
- Adaptability: Comfortable with multi-tasking and adjusting to changing priorities in a small company setting.
- Team Player: Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and production staff, contributing to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to work meticulously in ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance.
