Summary:
The role is responsible for preparing quotations for customer requests for the development and manufacture of catheter based medical devices, components, and tubing. The company relies on the Cost Estimator to provide accurate and timely pricing in order to support business growth with new customers and existing customers. The role works with others within the engineering, manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, and customer service functions of the organization. The role reports to the Customer Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
The role reviews customer requests for quotation, evaluates the sufficiency of provided information, obtains sufficiently complete requirements from customers, determines feasibility based on company capabilities, reviews historical cost and production information, obtains required information including from third parties in order to prepare pricing proposals for customers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has analytical skills, is detail oriented, has an ability to understand technical requirements including engineering drawings, is capable of working in parallel on multiple open RFQs, and is efficient producing quotes in a timely manner using established pricing models. Success in the role includes ensuring the que for quotes ready for issuance is cleared within the service level timeline goals set by the company. The position is open to candidates with a variety of education and experience levels. The company will train to its internal procedures and the technical products and services provided. Having an engineering background is a benefit, as is previous experience in a customer facing role. Ideal candidates may have already performed similar roles in organizations that perform customized work to customer requirements such as technical project estimators in other fields. The title of the role is negotiable and compensation will be based on the candidate's particular qualifications.
