Title: Media/Technology Integration Specialist
Opening for the 2025/2026 school year
Qualifications:
1. Master's Degree in Library Science or Instructional Technology, or equivalent education and
experience;
2. NH DOE certification with endorsement as library media specialist or media supervisor, or eligibility;
3. 2 years experience in school library media service
Reports to: Media Director
Goal: Implement a comprehensive library media program that supports each student and staff member
in the effective use of ideas and information.
Performance Responsibilities
1. Inspires students to become avid and competent readers by providing appropriate reading
materials and the guidance to find those materials. Connects students to information within and
beyond the classroom walls.
2. Informs and provides training to teachers and staff of new and existing information technologies
and resources, including but not limited to print and non-print materials, electronic resources, A/V
and computer equipment, and software.
3. Collaborates with teachers in planning and implementing instruction which incorporates use of
media center resources including but not limited to print and non-print materials, electronic
resources, A/V and computer equipment, and software.
4. Supports student development of skills necessary for efficient, effective, independent access,
evaluation and use of information.
5. Implements procedures to acquire, process, organize, disseminate, maintain and continually
assess essential equipment, collections of information resources, and instructional technologies
that align with research-based principles of the science of reading and digital literacy.
6. Collaborates with teachers to identify content and context in which learning goals will be achieved.
7. Assists classroom teachers in locating interesting materials bringing the curriculum to life, whether
on the Internet, in print, multimedia or community resources.
8. Collaborates in designing curriculum that integrates content areas with information literacy skills.
9. Provides staff development and ongoing support to teachers with regard to integrating technology
tools into the curriculum.
10. Co-teaches and coaches students in using the research process. Models and promotes the
highest standard of ethics and integrity in the use of information resources in compliance with
copyright laws and fair use guidelines;
11. Participates as team players with their principal and faculty committees to help set the educational
tone and direction for their building.
12. Participates and supports local, state and national education and technology initiatives, to ensure
integration of current research findings and best practices into the library media program;
13. Manages the library media instructional program
a. Staffing the library
b. Supervision of paraprofessionals and volunteers
c. Scheduling the use of Library Media Center
d. Selecting and ordering materials and equipment
e. Participates in preparing annual budget
This position falls under the terms of the Hooksett Educational Association contract.
