Responsibilities
  • Designs and prepares marketing materials for a variety of media platforms including ads, posters, brochures, postcards, e-cards, and university publications.
  • Adheres to Florida State's branding standards to maintain a unified and consistent look.
  • Interacts with staff in the Student Union to determine project requirements and priorities to ensure timely production of high-quality promotional materials.
  • Develops content for union event postings. This may include calendar entries, social media posts, screen content, newsletters, mass email communications, and news releases.
  • In conjunction with the Union's Assistant Director of Marketing, works closely with the DSA Marketing and Communications Office to ensure the departments maintain marketing and communications best practices and collaborates on projects including brainstorming and project management.
  • Reviews, proofs and offers constructive critiques of the department's marketing and communications assets when called upon to help create an atmosphere of creative brainstorming to meet the union's need for a positive, dynamic visual image.
  • Assists marketing and communications students as needed by mentoring them on design and writing principles and technical issues.
  • Assists with procurement of promotional items and union identified clothing.
  • Maintain project files and Union assets such as Flicker, share drive, one drive, image graphic files, Canva, etc.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Anticipated Salary Range

The anticipated starting salary for this position is in the mid $40,000's, commensurate with experience and education.
