Job Summary

The Media Production Coordinator is responsible for the planning, creation, coordination, and distribution of multimedia content to support Texas Southmost College's marketing, communications, and public relations initiatives. This role works closely with the Marketing team and internal stakeholders to produce high-quality videos, photography, and audio/visual assets that enhance the College's visibility and storytelling across digital and traditional platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute the production of promotional, informational, and event-based videos and photography to support College-wide initiatives, student recruitment, community outreach, and institutional events.

• Capture and edit video content using professional editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro), ensuring high production quality, brand consistency, and accessibility standards.

• Serve as lead photographer for campus events, staff/faculty portraits, and marketing campaigns. Edit, catalog, and archive images for use in digital and print materials.

• Set up and operate audio/visual equipment for college events, and studio productions. Manage lighting, sound, and staging as needed.

• Organize, maintain and update all media assets within the College's digital archive.

• Coordinate uploads to platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, and podcast directories.

• Collaborate with graphic designers, writers, and web coordinators to align multimedia content with broader marketing strategies. Provide multimedia support for advertising, website, social media, and digital signage content.

• Ensure all media content meets ADA compliance standards (e.g., captioning, transcripts), copyright regulations, and institutional branding guidelines.

• Maintain an organized inventory of cameras, lighting kits, microphones, tripods, and related gear. Track usage and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.

• Monitor trends in video production, photography, social media formats, and emerging platforms to keep TSC's media presence current and competitive.

• Cultivates individual relationships and partnerships that support the College's initiatives.

• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite.

• Completes duties and responsibilities in compliance with college standards, policies and guidelines.

• Uses interpersonal skills and makes sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, and customers.

• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored by the Texas Southmost College (TSC).

• Supports the values and institutional goals as defined in the College's Strategic Plan.

• Working hours may include evenings, holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to communicate with internal and external constituencies in a professional manner, including articulating the college's message with clarity and enthusiasm.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; and effectively present information to top management and public groups.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community.

• Ability to understand and synthesize complex materials in order to produce compelling content for a range of diverse audiences.

• Proficiency with use of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software and use of the Internet.

Required Education and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education or experience required.

• Associate's degree in Digital Media, Video Production, Communications, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

• At least five (5) years of experience in media production, preferably in an educational or marketing environment.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition, etc.).

• Strong photography, videography, and editing skills.

• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

• Ability to lift and transport video/audio equipment as required. (on occasion team lifting may be required)

• Availability to work evenings and weekends for event coverage when necessary.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree from an accredit college or university.

• Knowledge of podcast production and editing.

• Familiarity with web and social media content formats.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
