- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on production machinery to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical malfunctions in equipment such as pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems.
- Replace faulty components and ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Diagnostics and Testing:
- Conduct diagnostic tests on mechanical systems to identify issues.
- Use tools like schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting.
- Installation and Optimization:
- Assist in the installation of new machinery or equipment.
- Optimize mechanical efficiency by adjusting settings and configurations.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations during maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all work environments are clean and safe.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and maintenance schedules using software like SAP or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, operators, and other technicians to ensure production goals are met.
- Train co-workers on the proper use of machinery.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to read technical documents like blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Educational Requirements
- Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications such as OSHA 10 or specialized training in mechanical systems are advantageous.
