Permanent Mechanical Technician Opportunity - Leading Facilities Management Environment

A respected facilities management provider is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is ideal for a qualified and experienced technician who thrives in a busy, technically diverse environment and is looking for long-term career stability.

You'll be working within a multi-skilled engineering team, supporting a critical site where the smooth operation of mechanical systems is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to apply their trade in a meaningful and dynamic setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and associated plant and equipment

  • Service and repair HVAC systems, gas appliances, piped medical gas systems, steam plant, and other mechanical infrastructure

  • Diagnose faults and carry out corrective action using appropriate tools, machinery, and technical knowledge

  • Work safely and efficiently in a live environment, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures

  • Accurately document work progress and completion using a CAFM system (Maximo), ensuring updates are clear and thorough

  • Escalate issues or delays in a timely manner to avoid operational disruption

About you:

  • Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience with systems such as HVAC, water, gas, and steam

  • Comfortable working in a sensitive or live operational environment

  • Competent in using Microsoft Office and CAFM software

  • Valid UK driving licence

  • Ability to pass a Standard DBS check (essential)
