We are actively seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join our team.

The successful candidate will play an active role in delivering MEP projects across the Midlands and UK. Responsible for the daily supervision of direct labour, subcontractors, and supply chain partners, they will ensure projects are delivered to the required quality, safety, engineering, and time standards. Acting as the daily lead point of contact on site, they will drive project execution and performance within budget.

Key Responsibilities

General
•  Full ownership of the mechanical & public health services delivery on site ensuring collaboration, engagement, execution, and communication lines at all stages of the projects with the Main contractors, Kane Project delivery teams, Kane support departments, and supply chain partners.
•  Supervise, plan, and coordinate all Mechanical & Public Health services installation and testing from first fix to project completion.
•  Understand the project and the systems within the project in-depth.
•  Work closely with the Principal Contractor daily to build and coordinate an agreed sequence of work for all necessary tasks.
•  Direct all site management staff including site engineers and store managers.
•  Direct all Mechanical & Public Health Subcontractors.
•  Identify, generate and track RFI's.
•  Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues proactively.
•  Analyse, manage, and mitigate risks.
•  Supervise and manage H&S on site to ensure safe systems, procedures and protocols are upheld at all stages of the project.
•  Oversee all onsite installations to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
•  Ensure contractual conditions of performance are met.
•  Oversee and manage on-site Quality Assurance & Quality Control checks. Ensuring quality workmanship is always maintained.
•  Regularly attend meetings as required.
•  Assist the Project Manager with preparing, compiling, and presenting monthly project reports for Internal purpose to SLT/CLT and for submission externally to our customers.
•  Be based full time on site on a single project of approximate values between £2M to £5M or several smaller schemes.
•  Assist the Project Managers, the Commercial and Financial teams at all stages of the project to ensure the project cash flow and profit expectations are achieved.
•  Have sufficient knowledge of all contract key terms & conditions, Employers requirements, Specifications, brand standards, drawings, and any other project specific conditions necessary to successfully execute the project(s).
•  Have sufficient knowledge of the project CSA project budgets (net target spends) and costs to complete.
•  Work closely with Procurement and Take-Off teams to control and monitor the material and sub-contract procurement at all stages of the project working.
•  Manage the sub-contract packages to comply with our requirements. Including sufficient knowledge of each subcontractor's scope of works.
•  Assist the Project Manager with management of the financial productivity of the labour resources.
•  Assist the Project Managers, the Commercial team with reports, valuations, forecasts, and final accounts.
•  Assist the Project Managers, the Commercial team with project variations and provide all necessary supporting information to manage the recovery of all changes (i.e. Costs, programme).
•  Assist the Project Managers, the Commercial team with project delay analysis, acceleration, extension of time and provide all necessary supporting information to Manage the relevant event(s).
•  Assist the Project Managers and the Commercial team by maintaining accurate records of communication and project progress by attending relevant site meetings. Operations (H&S, installations, progress, quality, Testing, commissioning, and handovers)
•  Lead the project day to day, providing regular updates and action plans to your Project Manager(s).
•  Ensure planned site activities are efficiently carried out, with particular attention being given to the planning and control of labour resources, specialist sub-contractors and storage, control, and utilisation of materials across the project(s).
•  Assist the planning team with providing necessary installation, testing, and commissioning information to produce, agree and drive construction programmes.
•  Ensure you and your team are always working on an agreed programme and quality plan.
•  Monitor, review, and report progress of the installation against programme (as a minimum monthly). Including keeping photographic, marked up progress drawings and any other records pertaining to our project progress, dependencies, delays, defects.
•  Manage, coordinate monitor material requests, deliveries, storage and returns.
•  Manage, monitor, and regularly review all RAMS.
•  Manage and monitor SHEQ performance on your projects to always ensure compliance with our procedures.
•  Supervise the commissioning and handover procedures.
•  Monitoring the nature and volume of any defects reported and ensuring all justifiable complaints are speedily responded to and resolved.
•  Supervise and ensure all Kane H&S, Quality, Procurement, Planning, Commercial and Financial systems are fully utilised and executed at all stages of the project.
•  Supervise and ensure any project specific employer H&S, Quality, snagging systems are fully utilised and executed at all stages of the project. Records or duplicate records are kept at stages of the project. For example, use of Main Contractors field view system.
•  Attend daily briefings, site walks and inspections with Main Contractors, Clients, and other members of the professional teams.
•  Arrange, chair, record regular on-site meetings, briefings, and workshops with your site teams, supply chain partners and supporting internal departments at all stages of the projects to share data, information, and knowledge.
•  Assist, and ensure the creation and issue of project O&M manuals are executed in accordance with the ER's.
•  Ensure overall governance and compliance with terms and conditions of the subcontract. People
•  Manage the information flow to our site staff, operatives, and supply chain partners.
•  Ensure site teams are adequate and suitably qualified to undertake their duties, including all Health and Safety requirements. Ensure the Training matrix is regularly reviewed and kept up to date at all stages of the project.
•  First Aider.
•  Lead, motivate and manage the site teams to ensure a high level of performance, positive and inclusive environment on our projects always.
•  Monitor site conditions and intercompany /personnel relationships to ensure contract performances are not adversely affected through poor relationships or working conditions.
•  Coordinate sub-contractors and suppliers.
•  Ensure resource availability to deliver the project plans. Or report back to the Project Manager any inefficiencies, and or inadequacies identified. Customer & Business Development
•  Interpret the requirements of the specification and the drawings.
•  Understand technical content of specs and drawings.
•  Assist the Project Manager/Commercial Managers to resolve any conflicts between our contractual obligations and the "wants" of the client/contractor.
•  Ensure quality and delivery gives rise to repeat business.
•  Maintain good working relationships with clients/contractors.
•  Implement and maintain Kane Group Values.
•  Conduct ethical and equitable business practices in line with these values.
•  Implement all relevant and appropriate company policies and procedures.
•  Ensuring the site team is fully aware of and clearly understand the company's safety requirements and that they are always adhered to. Qualification & Training
•  Educated to GCSE(or equivalent)
•  Apprenticeship (or equivalent programme) in Mechanical & Public Health installations.
•  City & Guilds in a Mechanical & Public Health discipline or equivalent
•  Completion of recognized technical training scheme.
•  SSSTS
•  First Aid Certification
•  Permit to work/Safe Systems of Work.
•  SMSTS Experience & Knowledge
•  5+ years working experience in a Site Supervisor role and have appropriate building services industry experience.
•  Experience of supervising multiple sub-contractors as part of complex, multi-disciplinary building projects.
•  Knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing systems (Mech), building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
•  Familiarity with construction management software packages. Overall strong computer & IT skills.
•  Excellent Knowledge of the operation of Mechanical & Electrical services and plant.
•  Capable of interrogating and operating Systems such as BMS.
•  Knowledge of current technical standards in relation to mechanical, Public Health, Specialist systems and water systems treatment.
•  Knowledge of construction contracts and procedures.
