We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Group Manager to lead project development for new initiatives and oversee the performance and evaluations of engineers and designers within the team. This role involves providing crucial support to Project Managers and ensuring a professional and ethical approach to all responsibilities.
You will report directly to the President and collaborate closely with the Director of Projects to ensure the seamless delivery of engineering services. Additionally, youll work with the Director of Marketing to contribute to business development strategies.
Location: Kennewick, WA, USA (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with Project Managers to deliver timely and cost-effective engineering and design support.
Collaborate with the Structural Engineering Technical Manager to assist in preparing estimates and defining project scopes.
Review and approve contracts up to $20,000, with additional approvals required for larger contracts.
Lead engineering and design teams, ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and quality standards.
Mentor staff and recommend external training to support their professional growth.
Manage team utilization and staffing needs in alignment with project backlogs and the corporate strategic plan, working closely with leadership.
Coordinate team schedules with Project Managers to meet project deadlines effectively.
Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and conduct timely performance reviews.
Support company-wide policies and contribute to strategic and marketing plans.
Keep the Director of Projects informed about issues that may affect project schedules, staffing, or financial outcomes.
Participate in management meetings and initiatives to improve organizational performance.
Support the Structural Engineering Technical Manager in achieving or exceeding quality assurance standards.
Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) license.
10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Minimum of 2 years in project management or a related leadership role.
