Job Title: Buildings Mechanical Engineer, Data Centers (CFD), Hybrid

Location: Hybrid - Open to Any Office Location (Must Reside Within 50 Miles of Client's Office)

Pay Rate: $68/ H

Contract Type : W2 - Temporary - 6 Months


Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer focused on the design and engineering of HVAC and plumbing systems in high-performance buildings, particularly HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers.

This role will emphasize CFD modeling, HVAC system design, plumbing systems Design and sustainable mechanical engineering practices to support complex infrastructure and mission-critical environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the design and construction of HVAC and plumbing systems across a range of facility types including data centers and their associated administrative and support spaces.
  • Apply Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling to analyze airflow for both internal and external data center environments.
  • Support the design of systems in specialized environments such as:
  • Administrative, Warehouse, and Maintenance facilities
  • Laboratories and Workshops
  • Chemical Storage & Handling areas
  • Electrical Distribution Centers (Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear)
  • Pump Rooms, Engine Generator Areas, and Compressor Facilities
  • Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage Zones
  • Execute energy audits and efficiency studies, and support sustainable design through LEED and other green building certification strategies.
  • Interpret and apply building codes and industry standards such as NFPA, ICC, ASHRAE, ASPE, and SMACNA.
  • Participate in project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build and Conceptual-Bid-Build approaches.
  • Review and evaluate technical submittals, bids, and design documents to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Engage in professional development to grow technical expertise and project leadership capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program (in the home country or country of practice).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC system design, plumbing, and mechanical systems for large-scale infrastructure. (Mandatory)
  • Proven experience in Data Center design and airflow CFD modeling (e.g., using Cadence Reality Data Center Design / 6Sigma Room).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC system load calculations, equipment sizing, and energy modeling.
  • Understanding of LEED, Green Globes, and other sustainable design frameworks.
  • Familiarity with large-scale chiller plant design (air-cooled and water-cooled).
  • Knowledge of technical bid reviews, submittal processes, and compliance with industry codes and standards.

Certifications Required:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License (Mandatory)
  • LEED Accredited Professional (AP) with demonstrated experience securing LEED certifications for industrial buildings.(Mandatory)
