Mechanical Drafter - Internship(Ref. TINC/MEC-DR)

THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU.The Tenova Inc. internship program is designed to "test the waters" of working in the engineering and steelmaking industry. You will spend your summer working in a specific department on meaningful projects, establishing an understanding of Tenova's culture and processes, as well as developing a business mindset.
The program is a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities. Throughout the program, you can expect to gain a better understanding of your future potential at Tenova through valuable project work.
All internships last approximately 12 weeks. Your start/end date can vary based on your final exam schedule and needs. Internships are paid and designed to be a step towards joining Tenova with an entry-level position upon graduation.
You will be involved in supporting the
Mechanical Design Team in the design and implementation of our technologies.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with our experienced mechanical design team and the Drafting Manager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies.
- Assist in creating detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software and Inventor.
- Support the Drafting Manager in performing various drafting activities, which may include: scrubbing marked-up drawings, running batch plots, assisting in scanning archived drawings, and creating detailed drawings.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate design concepts.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications and performance requirements.
To become an intern with Tenova, there are a few key things you'll need to have/had: - High school Graduate or GED and currently enrolled in a Technical College with a focus on computer-aided drafting.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for precision in design.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization.
- Knowledge of Autodesk products: ACAD Mechanical is a must, Inventor is nice to have.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Job Type: Part-time, max 30 hrs
