Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer - Piping 1 for a short-term contract opportunity in Wilsonville, AL . This entry-level role supports piping and mechanical design for retrofit, environmental, and new generation projects within the power generation sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Create 3D piping and equipment layouts using design software.
Produce 2D orthographic and isometric drawings, P&IDs, pipe supports, and material take-offs.
Collaborate with engineers and designers from various disciplines to ensure accurate and efficient designs.
Apply relevant codes and standards to all design work.
Perform field data collection to support design development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Associate's degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
0-2 years of mechanical piping design experience in power generation or similar heavy industrial environments.
Experience with 3D modeling tools for piping system layout.
Preferred: Proficiency with Plant 3D .
Basic understanding of mechanical piping systems and retrofit or new construction workflows.
Familiarity with ASME/ANSI codes and standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
