We re working with a specialist design and manufacturing company based in Sheffield, seeking an experienced
Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to innovative projects across the
civil, structural, and mechanical sectors, including high-profile bridges and building structures.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing precision mechanical components and bespoke connection details, using industry-standard design tools and collaborating with a skilled engineering team to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and custom connections
- Produce accurate 3D models and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Perform structural and mechanical calculations using MathCAD
- Work closely with engineers across disciplines to ensure functional and practical designs
- Support manufacturing and fabrication teams with technical input and modifications
Requirements: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical design of components and structural connections
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Hands-on experience with MathCAD for design calculations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and structural principles
