JOB - Mechanical Design EngineerLOCATION - South YorkshireTERM - PermanentSALARY - 32,000 to 40,000 per annum (plus benefits) Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering company based in South Yorkshire who are looking to bring on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team. The ideal candidate will have experience using Fusion 360.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC etc.)
- 2+ years of industry experience in a mechanical design role
- Proficiency in Fusion 360 is essential
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly
- Strong technical drawing and 3D modelling skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Creating 3D models and detailed technical drawings using Fusion 360
- Developing new products and improving existing designs
- Collaborating with other departments including production, R&D, and procurement
- Producing BOMs and technical documentation for manufacture
- Participating in design reviews and contributing to project development
- Supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation activities
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and customer specifications
