This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for a creative, detail-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact setting.
Responsibilities
- Design, modeling, and documentation of mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
- Perform engineering calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis for components exposed to high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) and vibration-sensitive conditions.
- Drive the iterative design process from concept through prototype and field validation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, manufacturing, and operations teams to meet performance and manufacturability goals.
- Support lab and field testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage BOMs, change orders, and interface with vendors and field on assembly and operations optimization.
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years in mechanical design engineering, with exposure to systems used in harsh or constrained operating environments (e.g., energy, aerospace, subsea, defense).
- Proven track record designing dynamic assemblies, pressure-containing components, or rotary/mechanical systems.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience; comfort working closely with machinists and technicians.
- Strong understanding of fatigue life, material science, sealing technologies, and FEA/Ansys.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Excellent 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
- Effective communicator and problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
