As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Marshall, you will be at the forefront of high-profile military projects, shaping the future of deployable operational infrastructure. From concept design to supporting production build, your responsibilities will include working as part of a diverse team of designers, ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions for a range of exciting projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing sheet metal fabrications for battle-ready ambulances.
- Crafting welded assemblies for simulators that simulate real-world scenarios.
- Developing machine components for explosive ordnance disposal vehicles, ensuring precision and durability.
- Spearheading electrical integration design for power lockers in expanding containers housing CT scanners.
- Conducting drawing checks and design reviews to maintain the highest standards.
- Designing Sheet Metal Fabrications: Craft robust and efficient sheet metal solutions tailored for battlefield applications.
- Welded Assemblies: Engineer welded structures that withstand the rigors of military environments.
- Machine Components: Develop intricate components crucial to the functionality of our simulators.
- Electrical Integration Design (Power Lockers): Innovate in the integration of electrical systems within power lockers for mission-critical applications.
- Drawing Checking: Ensure precision and accuracy in every detail by meticulously checking drawings.
- Design Reviews: Collaborate with the team to evaluate and enhance design solutions for optimum performance.
Apply if you have most of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Modular Shelter products and/or Aerospace & Defense sectors is preferred
- Proficiency in compiling technical reports and certification documentation
- Knowledge of product safety standards and rugged environments is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently while adhering to schedule and budget
- Must be able to create drawings to BS8888 including GD&T and ISO weld symbols
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing techniques, including sheet metal fabrication, riveting, bonding, and welding, with the ability to mentor a design team in these areas
- Excellent communication & people skills
