Fleet Manager and Staff Mechanic

About Us:

Ace Environmental Holdings provides a full range of environmental services including 24-hour spill response, above and underground tank management, vacuum truck services, hazardous waste transportation and disposal, industrial cleanings, and soil and groundwater remediation. Services rendered in Baltimore, DC, and Mid-Atlantic Regions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs

- Plan, organize, and direct all functions and activities related to the set-up and ongoing servicing of company vehicles.

- Handle maintenance and repair for fleet vehicles in a prompt and efficient manner.

- Manage and follow preventative maintenance inspections and schedules.

- Coordinate fleet repairs with outside vendors when appropriate, and schedule and prepare vehicles for outside service.

- Identify and place orders for repair/replacement parts for vehicles.

Management and Training

- Monitor, analyze, and manage fleet to maximize return on investment and help control costs.

- Work with Operations Manager to manage down time for vehicles for repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety.

- Manage the acquisition, utilization, and disposal of fleet vehicles.

- Assist drivers with conforming to all required safety rules and regulations including pre and post trip inspections.

- Work with drivers and managers to provide training and best practices to maintain and operate vehicles.

- Manage ongoing relationships with external vendors (outside mechanics, parts suppliers, etc.).

- Help forecast and analyze maintenance costs and provide recommendations for vehicle utilization and equipment.

Reporting

- Maintain files and records of all services provided and relevant invoices in an orderly manner, including oil changes, tire rotations, milage, tool inventory, and maintenance work orders.

- Follow DOT requirements for titles, licenses, and registration for company fleet.

- Ensure fleet is DOT compliant.

- Complete all required reports and records in a timely manner to include DVI's and invoices for outside vendors.

- Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle performance and maintenance schedules.

General

- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.

- Provide prompt service when on call.

- Maintain clean and safe work environment.

- Maintain ACE standards and reputation in the industry.

Requirements:

- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

- Clean driving record and able to obtain DOT card.

- Experience operating light and/or heavy equipment.
