Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Test Engineer II to join our team in Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB), Colorado. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) on the Warfighter Simulations and Services (WSS) Agile Release Train (ART). The WSS ART offers opportunities to support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing and verification, and assessment. Relocation assistance is not available and this role is on-site with no remote option. Position Overview: The selected Test Engineer II will support the Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) product line of the DE Task Order on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC). This position requires a test engineer to support the development of modeling and simulation of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) systems. This includes designing, testing, analyzing, benchmarking, validation and verification, documenting, and integrating simulation products for the MDST organization. Essential Functions: Primary responsibilities include: Testing new capabilities, documenting new features, and analyzing simulation performance
Working with the product and development teams, as well as external users and customers to determine acceptance criteria for new feature
Supporting the modeling and simulation of missile defense systems
Supporting agile software team within the context of a larger team
Supporting the development of simulation and software architectures
Interfacing with MDST customers and presenting technical briefings to MDST stakeholders
Researching technical details related to various missile defense systems to better support model creation and enhancement
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience
Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Strong, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel
Familiarity with Agile software development practices
Understanding of software development and Linux platforms
Experience with C or Java source code
A current active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications: Experience in modeling and simulation
Knowledge/experience in SQL queries
Experience with OPIR system simulations
Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience with large code base M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform
Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation development

Flexible Work Arrangements Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
