About this Position / Responsibilities

NFF is seeking one (1) 3MS Solutions Architect to support the operations and maintenance of the Maximo software platform in a cloud environment. The role will focus on ensuring the smooth functioning of all Maximo components related to asset and material management, including associated integrations. The architect will help optimize the performance and management of our clients enterprise assets through Maximo configurations, minimal customizations, and data analytics. The goal is to streamline maintenance processes, reduce costs, and enhance the reliability of bus and rail systems.
•  Assist with program and project management tasks as directed by the Maximo Program Manager.
•  Generate documentation to support business, IT, and cybersecurity processes related to asset management initiatives.
•  Generate and/or ensure proper documentation is created and stored for any functional and technical processes that are created or enhanced within the Maximo platform and related integrations.
•  Prepare and present oral and written reports with actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
•  Develop responses to internal and external audits.
•  Create and implement plans to address audit recommendations related to asset management, review functional and technical design documents.
•  Analyze and evaluate proposed system changes for feasibility and alternative solutions.
•  Design and document implementation and backout procedures for system modifications.
•  Provide guidance on Maximo data archiving strategies and warehouse management.
•  Recommend and support Maximo upgrades, patches, application fixes, and mitigation of vulnerabilities both internally and from software vendors.
Enhance and maintain high availability across all Maximo asset management platform layers.
•  Optimize the integration of Maximo with other applications to ensure seamless functionality and minimum impact during periods of inaccessibility.
•  Provide expertise in improving and maintaining cloud hosting for Maximo and its integrated applications on Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
•  Deliver functional and technical Maximo support, minimizing or eliminating customizations while meeting specific requirements.
•  Resolve design and implementation challenges to improve or maintain the current Maximo configuration and customizations.
•  Provide guidance to overseeing the lifecycle of assets, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation for maintenance operations.
•  Facilitate the integration of Maximo with other systems, such as procurement, inventory, linear asset tracking, mileage, asset location, fuel and fluid usage, and tool maintenance, with mobile usage to support seamless maintenance workflows.
•  Analyze data to guide how to improve asset operation, minimize asset downtime, and optimize maintenance schedules.
Provide data-driven insights for enhanced asset management and decision-making.
•  Configure Maximo to align with operational goals, ensuring efficient management of assets and maintenance materials.
•  Minimize and/or eliminate current customization in Maximo and integrations to external systems aiming to align with operational goals, ensuring efficient management of assets and maintenance materials.
•  Provide design expertise and support for using Maximo's native configurations to enforce required business rules, diminishing or eliminating the use of any third-party tool.
•  Ensure quality assurance, quality control (QA/QC), and risk management practices are followed.
•  Maintain compliance with approved standards and protocols Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Certification
•  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
IBM certifications preferred: IBM Certified Advanced Deployment Professional; IBM Service Management; Asset Management certification or equivalent.
•  At least 5+ years of experience in program and project management tasks, including generating technical and business documentation, stakeholder reporting and strategic planning.
•  Experience in presenting oral and written reports with actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
•  Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
•  Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
•  Extensive experience with transit-specific business processes, including materials management, rail car, bus, and service vehicle maintenance, incident management, and facility management.
•  Preferred knowledge of the asset management framework and processes defined by the Institute of Asset Management.
•   At least 7-10 years of hands-on experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management solutions hosted in a cloud environment, including configuration, customization, upgrades, patches, and integrations hosted on-premise and in a cloud environment.
•  Experience with Maximo versions 7.6 or higher, with Transportation add-on preferred, Mobile, and Asset Configuration Manager.
•  Comprehensive knowledge of Maximo database design, data archiving, and security models for end-user connections and system integrations.
•  Experience with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), Cron tasks setup, data exchange programs, and TRM Rules Manager.
•  Experience implementing and maintaining IBM WebSphere on Linux and hosted in the cloud.
•  Demonstrated experience integrating Maximo with other systems, including PeopleSoft, Oracle ERP, PPG, Optram, Oracle Virtual Directory, Windchill, Fleetwatch, and Document Receipt Management systems to streamline business and exchange data for procurement, inventory, purchasing, document receipt management, bus/rail mileage, fuel and fluid monitoring, tool maintenance and asset tracking.
•  Solid understanding and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) end-to-end business processes.
•  PeopleSoft, Oracle ERP, PPG, Optram, Oracle Virtual Directory, Windchill, Fleetwatch, and Document Receipt Management systems.
•  Thorough knowledge of multi-tiered applications, including web services, Maximo SOA, database servers, application servers, and report servers.
•  Proficiency in Java, Relational databases like IBM DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server; JSP (Java Server Pages); HTML; CSS; JavaScript; XML; Jython, JavaScript, or Python for Maximo Automation Scripting; RESTful APIs; Maximo Configuration Tools for development (like Application Designer, Automation Scripts, and Migration Manager)
•  Extensive experience with relational database programming and administration.
•  Proficiency with major cloud platforms hosting Maximo, including Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
•  Understanding of cloud-native services offered by these providers, such as computing, storage, networking, and security features.
•  Cloud Database Services: Knowledge of managing cloud-hosted databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Oracle Autonomous Database) used with Maximo.
•  Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining Maximo 7.6 and Maximo Application Suite (MAS) in cloud environments.
•  Knowledge of IBM Maximo 7.6 and MAS as a Service offerings (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and its features, including reliability, scalability, and licensing models
•  Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies used in cloud-hostedMaximo, such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
•  A minimum of 5 years of experience integrating Maximo with other enterprisesystems (e.g., procurement, inventory, and asset tracking).
•  Knowledge of integrating Maximo with cloud-based enterprise systems such asOracle ERP.
•  Experience designing workflows and automated processes to improvemaintenance efficiency.
•  Familiarity with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) and its application in a cloud-hosted environment.
•  Familiarity with APIs and middleware for integration purposes.
•  Proficiency in scripting and coding (e.g., Java, Python, or Maximo-specifictools).
•  Experience with warehouse management processes, including data archivingstrategies and optimizing workflows.
•  Ability to analyze data for improving asset utilization, reducing downtime, andoptimizing maintenance schedules.
•  Strong experience with SQL databases, data warehousing, and archivingstrategies.
