Family/Matrimonial Law Paralegal

We are a dynamic, busy, and expanding full-service law firm seeking a Paralegal to join our Family Law/Matrimonial Department in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare motions, pleadings, judgments, statements, and various legal documents, including debt and asset lists, child support worksheets, and responsive pleadings.
- Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys, conducting client interviews.
- Prepare trial notebooks and assist during trials as needed.
- Compile and review discovery packages, including disclosure statements, interrogatories, and production requests.
- Maintain detailed calendars using Outlook, scheduling and coordinating external meetings as necessary.
- Serve pleadings, discovery documents, and demands, and assist in the preparation of various litigation documents.
- Plan and schedule appointments.
- Answer inbound phone calls.
- Implement and maintain organized filing systems within the firm.
- Perform other office tasks as needed.
- Handle court filings, including e-filing in Family Court, state, and federal courts.
- Track court dates and deadlines.
- Review bank statements and financial documents.
- Maintain a high level of organization and manage a heavy caseload.
- Request conflict checks, open new client matters, submit electronic approvals, and assist with other administrative tasks.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Westlaw, and ProLaw.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a polished presentation.
- Complete other ad hoc projects as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Paralegal.
- Strong knowledge of network statements.
- Previous experience in office administration and related tasks.
- Paralegal certificate required.
- Exceptional client service and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and detail-oriented.
- Strong proficiency in computers and software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff within the firm.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary: $65k-$85k, commensurate with experience.
