Accentuate Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager with Engineered-to-Order (ETO) experience to lead a dynamic team and drive operational excellence at our client in Raleigh, NC. This role involves overseeing procurement, materials planning, and supplier management while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in procurement, a proven track record in a large organization, and exceptional leadership skills to manage a team of 20 Planners and Procurement Specialists.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage planning and procurement teams, ensuring effective scheduling, procurement activities, supplier management, and material flow strategies.
Ensure on-time material purchasing and delivery to meet customer demand.
Collaborate with operations to evaluate production plans and optimize resource utilization.
Develop inventory strategies and robust material management systems to achieve financial and operational goals.
Partner with quality teams to improve supplier performance and resolve issues.
Drive cost-saving initiatives for direct and indirect spending.
Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying and executing proactive measures.
Ensure data integrity and governance of ERP systems for accurate materials and production planning.
Implement Lean principles to improve processes, reduce waste, and shorten lead times.
Build a culture of engagement, accountability, diversity, and inclusion within the team.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or Business-related field.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience leading materials planning and procurement teams in an ETO manufacturing environment.
Expertise in MRP/MPS systems and demonstrated success in supplier development and management.
Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial statements and forecasting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in industries with specialized quality requirements (e.g., AS9100, ISO 19443).
Proficiency in SAP or Epicor Avante ERP systems.
APICS certification in Planning and Inventory Management.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
