Job Description

The material control specialist is responsible for creating and executing planned replenishment orders and inventory optimization efforts and maintaining proper materials planning records. Additionally, the role will be responsible for liaising with operations, planning and warehouse teams to properly execute inventory replenishment and optimization activities. The material control specialist is responsible for ensuring stakeholders have the inventory available when it is needed while minimizing inventory levels and logistics costs.
  • Under general supervision, responsible for leading local inventory planning meetings, setting and maintenance of material requirements planning (MRP) data, running analytics to optimize inventory levels, and identifying and redeploying obsolete inventory.
  • Collaborates with operations, manufacturing, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure inventory levels are accurate and optimized.
  • Collaborates with planning activities such as recommendations for inventory stocking levels, forecasting and management of surplus inventory, review of forecasts generated by inventory planning tools, ensuring that regular inventory planning meetings are held, and that actions arising from these meetings are executed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that planning processes are adhered to and that planning tools are used effectively.
  • Coordinate the setup and monitoring of material master data settings and area KPIs

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate (bachelors) degree in business administration, materials management, industrial distribution, engineering, or similar discipline required
  • Production planner, supply planning, procurement, or other related experience preferred
  • Ability to speak and write English.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills is required and SAP knowledge is preferred
  • Experience working within a materials control/warehouse environment is a plus
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently within set deadlines.
  • Strong team player and effective communicator.
  • Strong customer service mindset
