We are seeking a motivated and experienced Material Planner for our Food Manufacturing client. This role is integral to ensuring the seamless operations of our supply chain and production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, purchasing, bidding, and supplier relations. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement material planning strategies to meet production requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
2. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials.
3. Manage the purchasing process, including sourcing, bidding, negotiation, and finalizing purchase orders.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast production needs and plan accordingly.
5. Monitor supplier performance and develop improvement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency.
6. Evaluate and manage risks related to material supply and demand.
7. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
8. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards in all procurement activities.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of cost reduction strategies.
10. Participate in the continuous improvement of supply chain processes and systems.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in material planning, purchasing, and supplier management in the food manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience in managing supply chain processes, including inventory management, purchasing, and bidding.
4. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
5. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
6. Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools.
7. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
10. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) will be an added advantage.
