Job Summary Working under general supervision, move materials to various areas inside and outside the facility using powered fork lift truck. Control material movement. Load and unload trucks or freight vehicles . Transport material between departments while ensuring proper routing of material is maintained. May be required to perform other activities including picking orders, taking inventory, shipping and receiving. Fully trained to facilitate receipt, storage and dispatch of packaged inventory. Responsibilities Manually pick, package, bank or wrap a variety of materials. Load and unload trucks in shipping and receiving. Neatly store material in proper storage areas. Maintain flow of material to all machines and assembly areas, first in, first out. Take parts for final inspection area and/or in process inspection area and from final inspection area and/or in process inspection area to shipping. Assist in emptying all garbage in outside garbage containers. Empty all chip bins in proper containers. Keep all manufacturing and shipping/receiving areas organized. Ensure that plant is clean and organized at all times. Inspect tow motors before each shift and document. Report unsafe conditions to supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Participation in continuous improvement programs. Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Required Skills Prior shipping and receiving knowledge or fork truck driving experience required. Prior experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working Conditions Stooping, kneeling, crouching, visual activities Reaching, grasping, walking Pulling, pushing, lifting over 50 lbs.
