Your Role as the Inpatient BHU Medical Director: As the Medical Director for the Adult Psychiatry service line, you'll be at the forefront of clinical and administrative leadership, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients. Your responsibilities will include: Leadership in Quality and Performance: Lead quality initiatives to maintain the excellence of care within the Adult Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) and continually improve our patient outcomes. Program Development and Expansion: Play an integral role in the growth of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program, mentoring psychiatry residents and fellows, and contributing to the development of future psychiatric leaders. Clinical and Administrative Leadership: Represent Adult Psychiatry in hospital meetings and serve as the primary contact for all clinical and administrative matters related to the service line. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with social workers, nurses, therapists, and case managers to provide holistic, patient-centered care. Additional Key Responsibilities: Ensure psychiatry providers meet hospital volume and quality expectations through effective leadership and mentorship. Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and performance management of psychiatry providers. Provide leadership in crisis situations and clinical escalations. Conduct psychiatric evaluations, make diagnoses, prescribe medications, and monitor patient progress with tailored treatment plans. Coordinate care across departments, including referrals and education for patients and families, to ensure optimal recovery outcomes. Provide virtual outpatient psychiatric services as needed. What We're Looking for: Board Certification or eligibility in Psychiatry. Maryland licensure or willingness to obtain. A passion for improving patient care and advancing psychiatric services in a hospital setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide a team, drive quality initiatives, and work collaboratively with diverse healthcare professionals. Previous experience in an inpatient setting is highly preferred. Comfort with telehealth for virtual outpatient services is a plus. Why Salisbury, Maryland?
