A D.C. Law Firm is seeking a Marketing Specialist with 3+ years of law firm marketing experience. The Marketing Specialist will work full-time on a regular schedule during standard working hours; however, the position may require regular after hours and weekend support. This is a hybrid role. The Marketing Specialist will collaborate with the Marketing Committee, Executive Director and others in the Firm to ensure successful marketing, media relations, client and internal communications, and client and Firm events. The position offers competitive benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing:
- Proactively work to promote the law and government relations work of the firm and its professionals, including the identification of opportunities to advertise firm documents, speeches, etc.
- Work with firm lawyers and professionals to spotlight individuals and refresh written content on the firm website.
- Track editorial calendars of various legal and other publications, such as Legal Times, Corporate Counsel, American Lawyer, National Law Journal, The Hill, National Journal for advertising, writing and recognition opportunities for attorneys and government relations professionals.
- Coordinate the design and production of Firm materials to include professional and display advertisements, marketing collateral, etc.
- Coordinate updates to Firm listings and surveys, such as NALP, Legal Times 150, Of Counsel 700, etc.
- Coordinate and announce legal and other awards such as Super Lawyers, U.S News-Best Lawyers, and Best Law Firms, The Hill Top Lobbyists, etc.
- Manage promotional items (i.e., mugs, pens, brochures, etc.)
- Manage logo requests and marketing materials for sponsorships, conferences, etc.
- Assist with webinars, online training sessions and preparing materials as needed
- Assist with presentations, speeches, and PowerPoint presentations
- Update and monitor social media accounts
- Contribute to and monitor the firm's marketing budget
- Other marketing duties as assigned
Communications:
- Draft and coordinate the release of the Firm's news items on the firm's website, through social media, and to reporters
- Regularly update firm media lists on various platforms
- Coordinate internal and external marketing and promotional activities
- Create and distribute marketing materials
- Support attorneys and government relations professionals in developing appropriate presentations and marketing packages
- Conduct industry and target research for attorneys and government relations professionals
- Distribute relevant news items related to the Firm, Firm attorneys and other professionals, client/contacts on a regular basis
- Generate and disseminate press release announcements
- Develop and disseminate regular reports of Firm accomplishments
- Prepare internal communications on Firm/employee accomplishments including notification of new arrivals, drafting welcome announcements, signage and other tasks
- SEO tracking and monitoring
- Other communication duties as assigned
Website Maintenance:
- Update the Firm's website, to include additions and edits to attorney and government relations professional bios, practice group descriptions, and the Firm profile
- Schedule headshot sessions for attorneys and professionals
- Solicit, edit, and post announcements of victories, upcoming events, and speaking engagements
- Other website duties as assigned
Event Coordination:
- Develop and maintain master calendar of events
- Coordinate the development of events, presentations, social engagements and conferences
- Coordinate Zoom webinars
- Assist in organizing the office holiday party and summer outings, and charitable events
- Coordinate the selection and distribution of client gifts
- Coordinate the selection and distribution of office holiday cards
- Other event coordination duties as assigned
Business Development:
- Draft responses to requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Identify potential business development events/opportunities
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or journalism required
- 3+ years of marketing experience in a law firm or professional environment required
- Exceptional written and oral communication
- Knowledge of Content Management Systems required
- Fluent in various key social media platforms, including LinkedIn and Facebook
- High regard for confidentiality is essential
- Excellent Teamwork Skills
Language Ability: Exceptional reading and writing is required. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, and professional journals, as well as the ability to write reports, business correspondence, proposals, advertisements, press releases, and web content. Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from attorneys and firm professionals, clients, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability: Must be able to work independently and be accountable for his/her actions, as well as be able to set priorities, work accurately under deadlines, synthesize complex or diverse information, and collect and research data.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient with using the computer and have functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and PowerPoint and social media platforms.
