Securian Financial Group is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Marketing Specialist to join our Employee Benefits Solutions (EBS) team on a freelance basis. This position requires local candidates who can work on-site three days a week, with flexible scheduling. As a Marketing Specialist, you will support our marketing initiatives during peak enrollment season by collaborating with senior marketers to enhance awareness, education, and enrollment of life and voluntary products for employees.

Your role will be pivotal in allowing the team to focus on strategic recommendations for our employer-clients. Responsibilities will include entering data into our marketing workflow management tool, updating Salesforce, developing presentations, managing compliance workflows, and more. You will be part of a collaborative team that is passionate about marketing and dedicated to serving customers and clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating marketing collateral for employees of large employers.

• Implement and execute marketing programs based on established plans.

• Quickly learn various tools such as contract documents, Paginator, Workfront, compliance software, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

• Utilize critical thinking to ensure projects are completed thoroughly.

• Gain product knowledge to accurately represent offerings in marketing materials.

• Measure and report on key performance indicators related to sales and employee product participation.

• Independently manage recurring or smaller projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with marketing strategies including segmentation, customer journeys, key messaging, and digital campaigns.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

• A self-starter who can assess needs, make independent decisions, and deliver impactful results.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Workfront and Tableau is a plus.
