Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote Division of Student Success (DSS) programs and initiatives.
2. Highlight existing programs that support student success and contribute to recruitment efforts in collaboration with UH Manoa's (UH Manoa) recruitment and marketing teams.
3. Oversee and produce, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and print promotional materials, including videos, photography, and brochures.
4. Maintain and enhance the DSS website to improve usability and accessibility of resources.
5. Utilize email marketing tools to distribute updates and newsletters, incorporating feedback for improvement.
6. Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all DSS communication channels.
7. Monitor social media platforms on a daily basis and inform the Vice Provost and Associate Vice Provost of Student Success about events, trends, and issues impacting the UH Manoa campus.
8. Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess effectiveness and refine strategies, including preparing reports and other public statements for University officials, advising program managers and executives on media and public relations.
9. Explore and recommend new tools and methods to enhance communication efforts.
10. Support the Vice Provost for Student Success in strengthening and maintaining effective working relationships with other University executives, student groups, community groups, employers and other state and federal government officials.
11. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with UH Manoa DSS directors, the Vice Provost for Student Success and the Associate Vice Provost for Student Success, Assistant Vice Provosts, and other UH Manoa campus stakeholders.
12. Direct and coordinate efforts for the development and implementation of special programs and initiatives that encompass the goals of Student Success.
13. Serve as the primary point of contact for DSS marketing initiatives.
14. Serve as the liaison for DSS in collaboration on campus communications, branding and marketing with UH Communications Department.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Denotes Essential Function
Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for program management and/or business administration, of which 2 years includes experience in marketing, communications or a related role; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of marketing, communications, program management and/or business administration as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with marketing, communications, program management and/or business administration.
4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide-ranging complex problems through creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and bythe preparation of reports and other materials.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

Desirable Qualifications
1. At least three (3) years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role in a higher education setting or a largemulti-faceted enterprise, or equivalent organization.
2. Analytical skills to track metrics and improve strategies.
3. Considerable knowledge of the University of Hawai'i policies and procedures, and relevant marketing and communication practices.
