Visit Boulder, the Boulder Convention and Visitors Bureau, is the official destination marketing organization for the city of Boulder. We are looking for a highly qualified Marketing Manager to join our team of destination marketing specialists.
The Marketing Manager - Lodging Partnerships is a new position, responsible for developing, executing and measuring marketing strategies funded by the Boulder Lodging Business Assessment Area (LBAA). This role is focused on driving overnight visitation, increasing hotel occupancy and related programs that deliver measurable value to Boulder area lodging partners. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with a deep understanding of hotel marketing, destination marketing, stakeholder collaboration and data-informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities of Marketing Manager - Lodging Partnerships includes:
- Attracting group, conference and leisure travel business to Boulder that results in overnight hotel stays
- Reporting on the ROI and attribution of LBAA-funded efforts
- Creating hotel-specific conversion marketing campaigns
- Working closely with lodging partners and stakeholders
- Ensuring marketing efforts comply with LBAA budget and goals
Marketing Strategy, Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage marketing campaigns that align with LBAA goals and initiatives
- Focus efforts on driving overnight stays, particularly during need periods
- Develop campaign concepts, create assets and implement targeted advertising, promotions and hotel packages
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for multiple market types including the meetings and groups market, conference market and leisure market
- Write copy as needed including, but not limited to ads, webpages, newsletters and other digital collateral in Visit Boulder's voice for the appropriate audience
- Create landing pages, digital ads, newsletters and other related program assets
- Develop a monthly e-newsletter for the meetings and groups segment
Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as the primary liaison between the marketing team and lodging partners
- Participate in hosting regular check-ins, marketing reviews and feedback sessions with LBAA stakeholders
- Present the objectives and impact of marketing efforts clearly and transparently to LBAA stakeholders
- Serve as the main marketing liaison to the Sales department staff to ensure cohesive messaging, aligned objectives, streamlined processes and support
Campaign Management & Analytics
- Monitor campaign performance, track ROI and provide detailed on-going reporting to stakeholders and leadership
- Optimize campaigns based on data, trends and hotel performance metrics
- Collaborate with the sales department to guide strategy and align with sales goals
- Draft a report on marketing programs and performance bi-annually to community stakeholders
Partnerships & Promotions
- Develop and implement cooperative marketing opportunities with hotels
- Work with vendors to execute on marketing programs
- Serve as the main point of contact to plan, execute and track deliverables with third party partners and industry publications
- Support promotions that align lodging with events, conferences or seasonal experiences
- Coordinate with the sales team on complementary campaigns
Budget & Compliance
- Manage the LBAA marketing budget and ensure all spending aligns with LBAA guidelines
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports for the board, city and stakeholders as required by the LBAA ordinance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of marketing experience with economic development, destination, hospitality, meeting planning or municipal organizations
- Organized project manager
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven problem analysis and resolution skills
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
Demonstrated Experience with:
