Central Michigan University, an FBS Member of the Mid-American Conference, is accepting applications for a Marketing & Fan Engagement Graduate Assistantship starting in August 2025 for the academic year. The responsibilities of this position include, but is not limited to:
  • Assist Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement in the development, coordination, and implementation of marketing plans for Central Michigan's 17 Division I programs
  • Serve as primary marketing contact for assigned sports and secondary contact for all others
  • Develop production timelines, organize in-venue entertainment and sponsorship activations, coordinate with spirit groups, and serve as athletics liaison for community and campus groups in preparation for game day
  • With sufficient experience and practice, serve as the primary show-caller for all in-game elements for assigned sports, ensuring seamless execution and precise timing while managing PA announcers, coordinating music and video board content, as well as collaborating with spirit groups, pep band, and DJ
  • Facilitate onboarding of and oversight of a marketing team of approximately 15-20 undergraduate and graduate students, assisting in creating schedules, assigning tasks, and providing leadership and guidance to ensure efficiency
  • Supervise and assist student workers with all game presentation elements, including but not limited to, promotions, sponsorship activation, giveaway distribution, coordination of spirit group performances, and acting as liaison for special guests (National Anthem singers, halftime performers, recognitions, etc.)
  • Manage daily office operations by attending meetings, coordinating communication with athletic department staff and campus partners, while overseeing student worker office hours and handling game day preparations to support department initiatives
  • Collaborate with student section leaders to increase and maintain high levels of student involvement and attendance
  • Create digital and print materials for use in both grassroots efforts and broader marketing campaigns
  • Utilize PacMail to send promotional emails to engage the student body, ticket purchasers, and targeted groups
  • Serve as the primary contact throughout the vendor acquisition process (initiating contact, coordinating logistics, and overseeing collection of necessary paperwork)
  • Complete and submit on-campus compliance forms as needed for various events
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement

Candidates must be accepted into a graduate program at Central Michigan University. This is a non-benefited position with a full tuition waiver (excluding fees) and a $11,100 stipend ($5,550 per semester). This is an in-person position and candidate must be willing to relocate.
