Title: Internship - Marketing Coordinator, Cascadia Mobility

Status: Temporary - 15-20 hours per week

Reports to: Marketing Manager/Community Engagement Manager

Location: Eugene, OR

Starting Wage: $15.50-$17.00/Hour

Period: Mid June through 2025-26 UO Academic Year

BACKGROUND & SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Cascadia Mobility is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operator of shared and active transportation programs in Eugene. Cascadia Mobility is responsible for all aspects of day to day administration, operations, and marketing for Eugene's bike share program, PeaceHealth Rides

The primary responsibilities of the Marketing Coordinator Intern are to manage social media platforms for PeaceHealth Rides and Cascadia Mobility and coordinate the bike share student ambassador program on the UO Campus.This position offers hands-on experience in social media marketing and event coordination, with the chance to support active transportation programs in a growing shared mobility system. You'll collaborate directly with leaders at Cascadia Mobility and the University of Oregon to help connect more people to biking.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Reporting to the Cascadia Mobility Community Engagement Manager, this position supports:

Social Media Management:
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager to maintain PeaceHealth Rides and Cascadia Mobility's social media presence across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok.
  • Develop engaging, creative content that highlights our bike share system, programs, and community impact.
  • Monitor and respond to questions, comments, and direct messages in a timely, respectful manner.
  • Support the development of strategic campaigns that align with broader outreach and marketing goals.
Program Support & Coordination:
  • Help coordinate the PeaceHealth Rides Student Ambassador Program throughout the academic year.
  • Lead ambassador recruitment, training, and day-to-day support.
  • Plan and staff events, workshops, and promotional activities in collaboration with the student team.
  • Serve as a liaison between Cascadia Mobility and ambassadors, offering support and regular communication.
IntroDUCKtion Engagement (Summer Only):
  • Represent Cascadia Mobility at UO's Student Orientation IntroDUCKtion, promoting our shared mobility programs and recruiting student ambassadors.
  • Engage with prospective students and parents, explaining the benefits of active transportation.
  • Organize events and activities at IntroDUCKtion to foster a positive image of the company and encourage student involvement.
Additional Support:
  • Assist with outreach to underrepresented communities to improve access to bike share.
  • Support neighborhood rides, tabling, and events focused on transportation equity.
  • Identify new outreach opportunities and serve as a community connector when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current UO student or recent graduate in Marketing, Planning, Public Policy, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in shared mobility, equity, and creating more livable communities.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, etc.).
  • Comfortable learning new tools and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills across cultures, both written and verbal. Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and pay attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • An ability to take the work seriously, without taking yourself too seriously.
REQUIRED
  • Interest in health equity, shared mobility, active transportation or other issues related to the work.
  • Available to work regularly scheduled weekend shifts and after hour events when necessary.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
DESIRABLE
  • Spanish language fluency.
  • Familiarity with Canva or other basic design tools.
  • Knowledge of PeaceHealth Rides and familiarity with local transportation options.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting projects and meeting deadlines while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

COMPENSATION

Starting wage is $15.50-$17.00/hr, commensurate with experience. We can also offer free unlimited bike share access and free membership to the Eugene Family YMCA.This is a part-time internship, hourly, non-exempt position. This position works midday two to four days a week at the Cascadia Mobility Office, averaging 15-20 hours per week.
