MARKETING COORDINATOR
DEFINITION: The Marketing Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing Sacramento Educational Cable Consortium's visibility and engagement
through strategic marketing efforts. This role involves managing the organization's social media platforms, maintaining SECC's website, and developing and assisting with the execution of marketing strategies that effectively raise awareness and involvement of SECC within Sacramento County.
The Marketing Coordinator will cooperatively work with all SECC Staff and Membership to implement SECC's goals and mission.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Initiates, coordinates and implements marketing activities for SECC and its members under the guidance of the Executive Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Media Management:
o Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase engagement and awareness.
o Create, curate, and schedule compelling content across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube) with a focus on creating consistency and engagement.
o Monitor social media channels for interactions, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers.
o Analyze social media metrics to assess performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
o Work with members to provide pertinent content to their school and district websites.
Website Management:
o Oversee the organization's website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with organization's mission and goals.
o Create and update website content, including news articles, event information, and multimedia elements.
o Collaborate with web developers and designers to implement improvements and troubleshoot issues.
o Provide input and help oversee development of a more comprehensive member section of the current site.
Communication Strategy:
o Develop and implement communication plans to promote our programs, events, and initiatives with membership and outside community.
o Coordinate with membership partners to enhance organization's outreach efforts including sharing of SECC activities and events on School District communication outlets and platforms.
Community Outreach:
o Help identify and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including school districts, programming partners, and pertinent associations and other non-profits.
o Represent the organization at community and membership events.
o Assist in planning and executing organization events.
Reporting and Evaluation:
o Track and report on the effectiveness of communication and outreach strategies.
o Provide regular updates to the Executive Director on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
o Utilize feedback and data to continuously improve communication efforts.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
o Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
o Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in communications, social media management, or a similar role.
o Proven ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
o Proven experience maintaining effective relationships with various groups.
o Experience managing social media platforms and website content.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
o Knowledge of Sacramento area community and local media landscape is a plus.

o Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with WordPress and Photoshop a plus.
JOB PROFILE:
o Regular Full Time (40 hours per week) Flexible hours to coordinate with approved organization needs. Automobile and valid CA driver's license required. Mileage reimbursed. Physical demands include occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, some stooping, bending, and squatting. Opportunity to help with video shoots as needed.
SALARY: Full-time, hourly
