SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Marketing Coordinator - Proposals responsible for partnering with team members in varying departments within the Chicago operating group and across the organization to research, write, and design compelling, differentiated proposals, as well as efficiently managing the proposal process from start to end. Key results will include producing powerful written content, exceptional design, and identifying key areas to differentiate and continually improve efficiencies of how we deliver proposals to our customers.

This is an office-based position in our Itasca, IL office location.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the proposal development process (multiple concurrently), including gathering, verifying, and writing response content, and formatting, printing, and assembling proposal and qualifications packages under strict deadlines.
  • Implement a rigorous proposal review process involving numerous stakeholders to guarantee timeliness and ensure that all submissions are thoroughly reviewed for compliance, accuracy, and overall quality.
  • Draft and interpret messaging and technical information through compelling stories and graphics, ensuring the right message is crafted for key customer stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a library of proposal content, templates, and past performance narratives to streamline the proposal creation process.
  • Complete continuous research on what will differentiate Mortenson proposals from the competition.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum two years' experience in marketing specifically managing proposal submissions
  • Minimum one year of experience in the construction, engineering, or architectural industry preferred
  • Proficiency in the following software programs:
    • Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign (required), Illustrator, Photoshop (preferred)
    • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook (required)
    • Salesforce (preferred)
    • Adobe Digital Asset Management (preferred)
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Superb writing and grammar skills with expertise in generating compelling narratives that clearly and concisely convey complex technical content
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to be flexible within a deadline-driven environment
  • Creative with an eye for detail and design
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of team members at all levels
  • Ability to listen and formulate ideas into strategy and key messages
  • Adaptive, effective communication and interpersonal skills with those of diverse organizational levels and backgrounds

The base pay range for this role is $27.93 - $37.69. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
