The Marketing Content Coordinator & Designer is a creative and detail-oriented team member responsible for supporting the organization's communications and outreach efforts through engaging content and thoughtful design. In this role you will focus on the execution of social media plans, designing digital and print materials, and coordinating the production of marketing projects that help advance the AKC Canine Health Foundation's mission. Working closely with the communications and advancement teams, you will create and schedule social media posts, design graphics for campaigns and events, and assist in the development of newsletters, flyers, reports, and other materials, ensuring that all content is aligned with the organization's brand guidelines and messaging goals. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and comfortable juggling multiple projects on tight timelines. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role on a dedicated team working to create a lasting impact on improving canine health.

Primary Duties include:

1. Social Media Management. Develop and execute social media programming to drive awareness, engagement, and donations. Be readily able to create platform-specific social media plans and content. Competently schedule and post across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, X, etc. Stay updated on digital market trends, and leverage platforms to align with the organization's broader goals.

2. Graphic Design. With an exceptional design eye, create branded graphics for digital (e.g., social posts, emails, blogs, ads, etc.) and print use (e.g., flyers, brochures, reports) using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite - all designed to consistently reflect the organization's brand identity. Source and manage vendors to produce printed and other materials with attention to layout, color, and formatting. When appropriate, leverage gig-type vendors (Fiverr, Upwork, etc.) to support graphic design needs while ensuring brand consistency across all assets.

3. Content Curation & Development. Proactively and credibly source and repurpose relevant facts, news, media, and updates to create stories and content that align with the organization's mission and voice. Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts and associates to gather information and develop accurate and compelling content. Use UGC (user-generated content) strategies as appropriate to grow the brand.

4. Content Calendar Management. On a routine basis, coordinate with the team to understand, prioritize, plan, and map the organization's content distribution across all channels, including website, email, social media, and print mail. Provide the team with advance notice for submission dates and keep the team apprised of the content plan and execution status.

5. Website Management. Serve as webmaster, making updates to CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), including page content, imagery, blog posts, and media uploads. Coordinate with COO and external vendors to manage any hard-coded changes necessary.

6. Community Engagement. Provide daily monitoring to the organization's digital platforms, responding promptly and in a brand-aligned manner to comments, questions, etc. to provide a good user experience and uphold brand standards. As necessary, support the management of closed groups (WISHD, Ambassadors, etc.) to maintain a consistent supporter experience.

7. Project Management. Proactively manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines using tools like Asana and Google Workspace. Collaborate well with cross-functional teams and vendors, incorporating feedback and communicating clearly throughout project development and execution.

8. Asset Management. Organize and maintain content, image, and design libraries for consistency and easy access across the team.

9. Performance Analysis. Review and report on key metrics from social media and digital campaigns, applying insights to improve engagement and effectiveness.

10. Brand Management. Maintain a consistent brand identity across all materials and channels. This includes implementing, enforcing, and educating team members on brand guidelines, visual identity, and one-voice. Monitor brand perception, conduct market research, and provide recommendations to enhance brand perception annually or as often as needed.
